About Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. It is a safe, non-judgemental place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our lives.
This program is designed to address destructive or compulsive behaviors, unhealthy relationships, addictions (drugs, alcohol, food, pornography), anger, shame, codependency (addiction to people and control), past abuse and so much more. Celebrate Recovery is not just for addictions! People can find freedom from any hurt, habit or hang-up that is making their life unmanageable. This is what makes Celebrate Recovery different than other well-known recovery programs like AA or Al-Anon which are focused on very specific types of recovery.
History and Background
Celebrate Recovery started over 25 years ago at a church in California. The program was so successful that local chapters started forming in every state. Over 700,000 people have gone through the Celebrate Recovery program in more than 35,000 churches worldwide since Celebrate Recovery started in 1991 at Saddleback Church in CA. And that number continues to grow annually.
Celebrate Recovery uses the 12 Steps and their Biblical comparisons, and the 8 Principles based on the Beatitudes from Jesus' most well-known teaching, The Sermon on the Mount, to help guide individuals through recovery. The program recognizes God as our higher power.

What to expect when you do.
The Celebrate Recovery Ridgeway Church Chapter takes place every Tuesday night. The program kicks off at 6:00pm with a free dinner.
At 6:30pm our large group meeting begins. During this large group time we sing a few songs and we hear a story of someone's recovery journey or a teaching on a specific recovery topic.
Following our large group meeting we break into separate men's and women's groups of 5-10 people. During these open share groups, each person has the opportunity to share without interruption about their recovery journey for 3-5 minutes. There is no pressure or obligation to share until an individual is comfortable. Everything that is shared during the open share men's and women's groups is confidential. We do not talk about who attends CR or what they shared about. There is total confidentiality and anonymity. What is shared in the group stays in the group.
The evening concludes in the CR Cafe where we enjoy dessert and coffee and have time to get to know others better. We hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday!
